10 Gnomes 11: the remains

This month’s episode has a little substory as well, but it’s not about me or what I did, but about the location itself. So there’s this street. Mariacka Street. After our city was destroyed during World War 2, there was not much left of it and its structure. Ruins mostly. So what they did was collecting all undamaged (or lightly damaged) ornament entrances to the now non-existent houses of the city centre and put them all on one street so it would look like before the war. That’s the place. One of the must-sees in our city on every tourist’s route. That’s why I had to wait until late November and be there early in the morning to catch that place human-less. Kind of a graveyard you say? I can’t say that I disapprove.
That’s how the city looked in 1945:

Mateusz, I finally got all the gnomes and the two trolls in a couple of tries and it was crazy that there were two trolls this time.

Hi Mateusz, great location as always, the game is difficult! I have found the three trolls, but only 9 gnomes!! lol that’s weird isn’t it?

I got 9 Gnomes and 2 trolls on my first try. Amazing place! I’m so going to Gdansk next time. :D

Wow, what a beautiful location.
I had to make an effort to look for gnomes/trolls instead of the facades.

i found only 8 gnomes because i ran out of time. but i found 3 trolls! are the trolls going to be more every time?
PS. that one white garage door thing over a one basement window kind of made the neighborhood loose a little of its rustic fell! :)

Sadly I haven’t been able to play the last three games.
Each time they download, I see the picture and in an instant it is gone and doesn’t come back!?
Can you tell me why please? Is my system lacking something? I used to be able to play them?

I had to ask someone where this street was and Mistery at gamershood me directed to your website. I love the settings for your games but this one really put my heart in my throat once I read the history. I have always thought that indiscriminate wholesale destruction of cities is barbaric, and I am truly saddened by the hell unleashed on Europe, not just by Allied and Axis bombers, but also by the ‘Scorched Earth’ policy of Hitler-may he burn in hell forever.
On a happier note, I found 8 gnomes and 3 trolls, and once played just to enjoy the beautiful street.
Please keep up the good work!

Najpiękniejsze miejsce w Gdańsku. Eh trzeba tam będzie zabrać swojego EOSa na rundkę :)
No i fajny pomysł, żeby fabuła była tym razem “liniowa”, łatwo znaleźć całą 10, ale przynajmniej nie przegapi się pięknych miejsc z Mariackiej.
Czuję przez skórę, że finał będzie mocny :) Szkoda, że to już będą ostatnie gnomki :(

yet another great location! I have to go to this street some day!
I was pleased to see three trolls, I thought there would be more than one at some point ;)
It took me a few tries to beat the game because I wanted to explore each of the pictures. this one may need a little more than 10 minutes to complete, but it was still excellent as usual

that was the far most stupidess game ever.If i have a choice to play Squirrel winter or not eat breakfast,i would pick no breakfast!That’s how stupid Squirrel winter is!!!You should be a shame of yourself,for making this dumb game.Trust me,I’m a kid and know which game is cool,I’m like a game freak!So,I say you think of better games!

Wow, I had 8 seconds left and managed to find the last one – and I was fifth on the scoreboard! MAN these games are fun! Make one in your house – just don’t connect the rooms like they are in your house. These are such fun. But are there more than 2 trolls? I only found two…

Ignore the comments of celeste angel and Universa…the Gnome series is right up there with Covert Front and Submachine. Just because its different doesn’t its a “waste”…especially when Mateusz gets to show off both his city and photography. They’re fun and challenging, and that’s all a game nees to be.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series thus far. But I think that this is my favourite simply because of the location. It was very interesting and I found myself focusing more on the site than the gnomes.
I look forward (with some regret) to the final edition (maybe you keep it running for ’09???). Although, I think it would be hard to top this one.

On my first try i found 3 trolls but only 9 gnomes. on my 2nd try i found all gnomes, but only 2 trolls!! one is well hidden :/ IMO its one of the hardest installations in the series so far. So sad theres only one left, i totally love it :)

I really love this game, not only caz it’s a great test of my courtesy and durance, but I’ve a wonderful impression of this city – like at the other games.

omg that game was soo fantastic i got so freeked out when i found out her name was kara. I loved the clock bit where the time was on the portrait :) that was genuis cant wait for the next one x

I really enjoy the Cover Front games…I’m just wondering…WHEN WILL THERE EVER BE A COVER FRONT 3? I have been waiting for forever! Please, release that game for me!

Cóż za potworne marnotrawstwo, tyle piękna w jednym odcinku (niczego nie ujmując poprzednim). Większość ,,profesjonalnych znajdywaczy gnomów” nie zdąży zauważyć nawet połowy tych szczegółów. Chyba z pięć razy utykałem na oglądaniu różnych szkiełek, krzaczków i kamyczków (jaki fajny szczupaczek!). Ta część naprawdę powinna trwać 20 minut.
