10 Gnomes 7: the Solitude

play | comment | watch video| watch video from location

I have a big problem. My city is flooded with tourists and most of the locations that I’d like to show you are occupied with picture snapping hordes of foreigners. That doesn’t sound like a good setup for the gnomes, does it. Then I remembered that there is this one place in the very centre of the old town of my city that hardly no one knows about and no one goes there. For real, it’s 5 metres away from the outside crowd and biggest tourist’s attractions of my old town, not speaking that it gives a nice cool shadow relaxation and is quiet and peaceful. And beautiful as well. Yet it’s always empty. It’s open for the public, but you have to go through two doors to get into that inside yard. That’s the solitude I was looking for in a city overrun by people in shorts. And the gnomes were there.

reloaded: Crowded House

play | comment

collect as many nuts as you can, but these are tough times, as the room gets more crowded with every single nut collected. Use star power up to make some room.

Thanks to reloading this game gained: six characters to choose from, option to choose control method (keys or mouse) and some fast music background.

Summer

It’s summer time. It’s so hot out there that grilled chicken legs are falling right from the sky. With that said – one question remains – what does that mean machine’s janitor do with the grill here? The answer seems obvious…

p.s. – finally after four years my “Four Seasons” game tetralogy is finished and I can feel fulfilled. :D

reloaded: Spring

It’s springtime in squirrel land. Time of joy, renewed hope for a good year and fierce beetle eating. Plants are growing everywhere, sun is shining, snow came down from the mountains… But what’s up with that winter’s mean machine janitor and his fireballs? Wait, what?…

reloaded: Winter

play | comment

If you happen to not score good points in Autumn, here’s your chance to make some more rations for winter chill, as we approach the mean machine and it’s frozen acorns. Catch’em all, but watch out for the machine’s janitor, he’ll try to scare you away with snowball, but we all know that won’t do any damage. Or will it?…

It’s autumn in squirrel land and it’s highest time to make some rations for that upcoming winter. Collect as many acorns as you can and don’t forget to catch them clocks for extra time. Once again – fully reloaded game, only acorns and original hero survived the time test. :D

reloaded: Tribal Jump

play | comment

tribal jump didn’t really need reloading, exept for better graphics and a new API. The gameplay is exactly the same, so if you happen to have played this game before – you can just feast your eyes on new graphics, or you can do that via picture above. Hmm… Anyway – just go and play and make it to the leaderboard :D

Last Egg Standing (aka reloaded: egz)

play | comment

Well this had to happen. When you’re reloading games there’s always a danger of coming across a game that you need to redo entirely from scratch to make it worth playing and showing to the needy audience. Let’s start at the beginning. Long time ago, in year 2004 or even earlier I created a small game called EGZ . Nothing fancy, just a remake of old egg picking from Nintendo. Back then this game seemed to be cutting edge, but now… List of things to improve was long. Terrible sound in between levels. Shitty font used for top display. Random egg showing – which resulted in inability to collect them all. Lousy backgrounds… The list goes on. But the worst part was when I opened the fla file and looked at the script. OMG, what was I thinking. Those hard early years of action script learning. :D So I remade the whole thing. Not a single sprite survived, not a line of code. Now you can compare how my way of thinking about game development changed in those few years. ;)

Enjoy.
